In PvP content, it's rather decent right now because of recent buffs to SMGs, though it won't win against shotgun apes usually. If you can get Hardlight's catalyst, that is also another solid pick that goes unnoticed. It has 100 aim assistance, which makes headshotting in PvP a breeze, and it can shoot around corners too. Being able to pick the damage type makes it a life-saver in PvE content that locks your equipment too. Not all items are good for all purposes either, and bad items are only bad because they don't serve your purposes.
